Description of Training Session:
(1 hour) Online Self-Paced – Open Enrollment *Teachers must understand the importance of scribbling. Only when they consider it a worthwhile activity can they best create a climate conductive to learning. Scribbling and free-drawing experiments are probably the most important art activities in which a child can engage. Art, for kids, is a sense of adventure. They never know what they will find and learn with each new experience.
Children need to produce their own art; the desired benefit is achieved by limiting adult-made projects. When pushed to do something they are not ready to do, children suffer by stifling their own needs.
As a caregiver, you must be creative in your approach to art. You must observe in order to find new ways to expand children’s learning experiences. Creative growth is promoted through careful choice of various art materials and opportunities to create. A good art program allows children to express their ideas.

The additional websites with ideas for artwork were pretty good. Thank you for including those. I guess that the creative ideas are always helpful when you work with little children and you need several creative ideas a day! Thanks for those.

I enjoyed the coloring controversy and the opportunity to give my personal opinion. I also enjoyed the stages and learning what they meant and promote.

I like how each slide described each step of a child's learning in art. Very well organized.
