Description of Training Session:

Many children are afraid to go to childcare, not because of the snake at the science center, but because they have to face a much more substantial fear: the fear of a bully – a child who teases, humiliates, hits and shoves.

No child should fear going to child care. As a child care provider, it is your responsibility to create a safe and loving atmosphere. By learning to identify characteristics of bullies and their victims, you can help prevent the physical and emotional pain bullies inflict.

This course will familiarize child care providers with the definition and characteristics of bullies. It also details the effects of bullying from both a bully's and a victim's perspective, and discusses strategies child care providers can implement to help prevent bullying.

Learning Objectives:

  • RECALL three common types of bullying.
  • RECALL common characteristics of children who bully.
  • RECALL common characteristics of children who are victimized by bullies.
  • RECALL the emotional and physical effects associated with children who are bullied.
  • RECALL steps child care providers can implement to prevent bullying.

This is a self-paced course that and can be saved and resumed during any point. Assessment question and answer sessions during the course monitor the students’ progress, and support the student’s progression, and learning objectives. There is a test at the end of each course. The questions on the test are completely based on the materials covered in the specific course. The student must get 70% or better to pass the test. If 70% is not achieved, then the training system automatically takes the student back through the course to review the materials that were missed on the test. The student is then returned to the test to try again for a second attempt if needed.

All courses are completely online. Nothing will be shipped.

    Good training

Posted by Mel on 25th Feb 2014

I enjoyed learning that a childs temperament does not govern what a child does but how he does it.
Learning about how bullies have an above average self-esteem was very interesting.
