Description:  (3 hours) Online Self-Paced – Open Enrollment * The term toddler comes from the way that children first walk, which is at first unsteady and more like a toddle than actual walking. There are different opinions about when this period actually begins and ends.  Licensed child care programs frequently consider the age from 1 year to 2 1/2 years to be “toddlers”.  The toddler years are a time of great cognitive, emotional and social development. The toddler development varies greatly from child to child. It is common for some toddlers to master certain skills (such as walking) well before other skills (like talking). Even close siblings can vary greatly in the time taken to achieve each key milestone.

This course provides a description of the term milestones; and an overview of toddler social/emotional developmental and physical well-being and motor development. We will also introduce the topics of language, literacy, math, sensory, and creative play.  Also, guidance techniques for common toddler behaviors will be addressed.

Learning Objective:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of toddler developmental milestones.
  • Describe ways to support social development in toddlers.
  • List sensory activities appropriate for toddlers.
  • Reflect on ways that toddlers are offered opportunities to be independent.
  • Identify ways to teach appropriate behaviors and expectations to toddlers.

Broke down in what age the toddlers learn and develop

Posted by Kathleen on 15th Oct 2014

Broke down in what age the toddlers learn and develop and how they understand things on their level. This live chat is the best I have ever used. Every time I have had a question I have never had to wait but a few seconds for someone to be live and ready for my questions
